Internship
The Gibbon Rehabilitation Project (GRP) offers meaningful internship opportunities for students and early-career individuals interested in wildlife conservation, animal behavior, and environmental education. Our internship program allows participants to gain hands-on experience while contributing to the protection and rehabilitation of endangered gibbons in Thailand.
Interns will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about the rehabilitation and reintroduction process of gibbons.
- Assist our team in collecting behavioral and ecological data.
- Support educational outreach and visitor engagement.
- Participate in animal care activities, forest monitoring, and enrichment projects.
Requirement
Internship Duration:
Each intern is expected to stay for a minimum of 5 weeks and a maximum of 10 weeks. We accept interns all year round.
Research Proposal Submission:
Interns conducting academic research must submit their research proposal or topic in advance for approval. If an intern has not yet selected a topic, GRP will assign one aligned with our ongoing research priorities.
Commitment Fee:
- Internship Commitment Fees: 33,500 THB. This total includes two main components:
(1) A non-refundable registration fee of 3,500 THB
(2) A training, supervision, and instruction fee of 30,000 THB
These fees help cover essentials such as your guidance, supervision, coordination with your institute including providing feedback and reports, and park access pass for Khao Phra Theaw Non-Hunting Area during your stay. *This fee is a flat rate regardless of your internship duration.
Important Information for Interns
- Travel & Visa: Please note that we are unable to provide transportation, accommodation, or visa assistance.
- Health & Safety: Interns must have their own travel, health, and accident insurance. We are not responsible for any illness or injury that may occur during your stay.
- Housing: At the moment, we do not offer on-site intern housing. However, we recommend a nearby accommodation that is conveniently located close to GRP. If you’re interested, you may contact them directly to make a reservation.

How to Apply
Download and fill out the application form, and email us at grp@gibbonproject.org You can also visit us in person at our Education Center. We will send you a payment link or bank account information for the registration and commitment fees once we confirm your placement. We will also need an official letter from your institute detailing the internship request with the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project.
